Catch-up Premium Funding

The government announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up. This includes a one-off universal £650 million catch-up premium for the 2020 to 2021 academic year to ensure that schools have the support they need to help all pupils make up for lost teaching time. This equates to £80 per child. Although all children have had their education disrupted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, it is likely that disadvantaged and vulnerable groups will have been hardest hit.

During the academic year 2020 - 2021, Catch-up Premium Funding has been used to support our pupils in the following ways:

• to fund additional Teaching Assistants to support pupils across the school

• to purchase 'Bounce Back', an intervention programme to support the rapid catch up in phonics for children in Years 2 and 3

• to purchase intervention programmes for pupils whose attainment is below age-related expectations (Fast Track Phonics)

• Curriculum resources and materials that support mental health and well-being of pupils

• Additional support from Achieve 360 for identified pupils and families.
