Heart of the Community

At Cottam, we are committed to building strong links with our local, national and global communities. By developing lasting relationships with the wide range of people, organisations and places around us, we are able to enrich our curriculum and provide meaningful opportunities for our pupils, while also giving back to our local community.

Our school ethos underpins everything we do and helps pupils develop a strong sense of belonging within our school community, alongside an understanding of their responsibilities towards others. As children grow older, we encourage them to become more actively involved in the wider community by supporting local initiatives, charities and organisations.

We pride ourselves on being a 'School at the heart of our community' and are always seeking new ways to strengthen our partnerships and best serve our local area.

Every year at Harvest Time, we collect donations for our local food bank and support centre, Share IT!

Share IT! supports people living in the PR2 and Cottam areas of Preston through its Foodbank, Thrift Shop and Café, as well as by providing personal help and advice to those in need.

Our pupils enjoy taking part in this annual collection, helping to support families and individuals within our local community.
