EYFS Statutory Assessment
The Early Learning Goals (ELGs) are the end-of-Reception statements against which all children are assessed. Children who meet the criteria within each area of learning are considered to have ‘met’ the Early Learning Goals and are working at age-related expectations. You will find a link to the Early Learning Goals at the bottom of this page.
We recognise that some children will have met the Early Learning Goals before the end of Reception. Children are continually provided with opportunities to deepen their knowledge, develop their skills further and apply their learning in a range of contexts, ensuring they are appropriately challenged and able to achieve greater depth in their learning.
You will also find below a document explaining the statutory EYFS Baseline Assessment, which is completed when your child joins school in September.
