Year 6 Spelling
Our aim in Year 6 is to help children develop a range of personal strategies for learning spellings, as well as checking and proofreading spellings in their own writing.
Spelling activities will be sent home weekly to build on the work completed in school. These will focus on exploring particular spelling rules and patterns, alongside learning the Year 6 statutory spelling words. Children will be regularly assessed on their understanding of these words and patterns, allowing us to identify areas where they may need further support and develop their confidence and independence as spellers.
