Year 3 Spelling
Our aim in Year 3 is to support children in developing confidence and independence in spelling.
Spelling activities will be sent home weekly to build on the work completed in school. These will focus on exploring spelling rules and patterns, and may include rules such as using apostrophes for possession, adding prefixes and suffixes, alongside learning the Year 3 statutory spelling words. Children will be regularly assessed on their understanding of these words and patterns, allowing us to identify areas where they may need further support and develop their confidence and independence as spellers.
