European Languages Day 26th September 2023
Year 3 had a fabulous day celebrating European Languages. We all dressed up in colours to represent a European country and we had great fun singing 'Old MacDonald had a Farm' completely in French in assembly. Our first task back in class was researching the European countries France and Poland. We located them on a map of Europe, we found out the names of their capital cities and we researched popular Polish and French foods. As it was European Languages Day, of course we learned some of the language too!
Year 3 also learned about a famous French artist called Georges Seurat who created a special painting technique known as Pointillism. The children loved creating their own landscape painting in the style of Georges Seurat.
As part of our day we enjoyed eating pain au chocolat and orange juice and we practised asking for it in French.
Well done to all of Year 3 for a very fun European Day of Languages.
