Our exciting trip to UCLan to see the famous illustrator, Korky Paul.
Year 3 and Year 4 visited UCLan for a fun, festive event with Korky Paul who has illustrated many children's books. Korky Paul read the new book 'One Snowy Christmas Eve' to us and did a live drawing of the main character. Afterwards, one lucky winner was picked to take the illustration home and the winner was from our school! Korky Paul then encouraged the children to ask him questions and they came up with some wonderful ideas of things to ask him. Next, Korky Paul was very busy signing books whilst we did some Christmas colouring and ate our lunch. We were extremely proud of our children's behaviour and the way they got involved in the activities on our trip. Well done Year 3 and Year 4!

European Languages Day - 26th September 2024
European Languages Day - 26th September 2024
On 26th September we were delighted to celebrate European Languages Day. All of the children dressed in red, white and blue to represent the colours of the French flag. We had lots of fun practising the French language and painting using the special technique of Pointillism which was developed by the French artist Georges Seurat. We also enjoyed eating pain au chocolat. In the whole school assembly, Year 3 sang 'If you are happy and you know it' completely in French and enjoyed listening to the other classes singing their French songs too. Finally, we researched lot of different European flags. Well done everyone!
Science - Movement and Nutrition
Science - Movement and nutrition
Our first Science topic in Year 3 is Movement and Nutrition. We have been learning all about the human skeleton and we had fun making our own skeletons. In our most recent lesson we found out about how muscles work and took part in some amazing muscle tricks!
